Meet Liz
hi! I’m Liz, the designer & creative behind CHNL.
I grew up at a small kitchen table tucked into a kitchen full of dark, retro wood cabinets and cream-colored tile counters with deep brown grout. Very 70s, even though the house was built in 1985, just a year before I was born. The floor was laminate. The table had folding flaps so we could tuck it away when we needed more space.
That table was where I made art.
The bottom drawer of the cabinet closest to it was mine. Filled with markers, paper, paint, and whatever supplies I could get my hands on. While my mom moved around the kitchen nearby, I’d sit there for hours drawing, experimenting, and making little messes that felt important at the time.
Looking back, that space shaped how I create. It taught me that creativity doesn’t need pressure to work. It needs room, attention, and a little trust. :)

How CHNL Took Shape
For a while, I tried to take the practical route. I explored other paths, learned structure, worked closely with people, and developed a deep understanding of how environments and experiences make us feel.
Eventually, design pulled me back in, this time with clarity and confidence.
What I realized was simple: the part of design I love most is listening. Paying attention to what’s present, what’s emerging, and what’s being overlooked. Helping people see what they already have, then giving it form.
That’s how CHNL came to be.
CHNL was born from years of designing, experimenting, and realizing that the best brands happen when you stop forcing & start listening.
A Little More About Me
Outside of design, I live a pretty full, colorful life.
I’m a Taurus sun with a Pisces moon and Taurus rising, which means I’m grounded, intuitive, and deeply motivated by beauty, comfort, and feeling connected. I trust my instincts almost as much as I trust my taste.
My favorite color changes, but it almost always lands somewhere warm and earthy. Think sun-faded neutrals, rich browns, soft greens, and golden tones. I’m very serious about good food, strong coffee, and meals that feel like they were made with care. Cooking is one of my favorite creative outlets, especially when it’s shared.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outside, rearranging art at home, cooking something from scratch, or spending time with my dogs. I love slow mornings, long conversations, music on in the background, and spaces that feel lived in.
All of that life shows up in my work. The way I notice details. The way I value rhythm and pacing. The way I build brands that feel human instead of overproduced.
This isn’t separate from what I do.
It’s the reason I do it the way I do.
How I Work
Every brand I create begins with listening. Sometimes that happens one-on-one with a client, through conversation and collaboration. Other times it happens over years of observation, pattern recognition, and experience, which is how my ready-made Canva brands take form.
Both are built with the same care and intention. The difference is how and when the listening happens.
My work blends brand design, photography, and web design with intuition and strategy. I like structure, but I leave room for play. I value clarity, but I don’t rush it.
The goal is always the same: to create something grounded, expressive, and genuinely useful in the real world.
